The Pixel - Made by Google

Introducing Pixel, Phone by Google. I have an iPhone and I didn't think there was something that could make me change my allegiance, however this forces the thought.

Apart from the ad, which I thought was very 'new'...see what I did there. I think the specs sound great. I am sure everyone will agree the battery 15 minute recharge jumps out at me. Imagine a phone that finally has the battery life of the Nokia 3210. Ok well this is not that, but we are at least making progress.

Watch the video and enjoy and if you want to you can pre-order the Pixel here

GoPro HERO5 + Karma: Just Take all my MONEY NOW!!!

GoPro’s founder and CEO, Nicholas Woodman, introduced a new line of HERO5 cameras, cloud-based software, and drone, Karma, to international press at the base of Squaw Valley, CA, near Lake Tahoe. And I can tell you that it looks amazing. One thing GoPro do so well is their launch videos for new products. They beautifully capture exactly what the brand is all about. The kind of thing that says to the consumer, if you buy a GoPro you are going to have great adventures.

The Uber vs Addison Lee War Gets Better

Being something of a tech nut myself I do enjoy the London landscape. I mean in South Africa when Uber arrived it was a god send, just because there was no alternative. In London however we are blessed with so many options. Black cabs, Gett, Hailo, Addison Lee etc. Addison Lee for a long time was the big kid on the block, but since Uber came in with it's new shiny cool appeal, people have been waiting for competition to just roll over and die. However Addison Lee have done the opposite, they have been forced to step it up and this new feature Snooze is exactly the kind of tech advance that will keep them in the game.

Win Tickets to the Rugby World Cup Final

As I walk the streets of London there are many things that catch my eye. Big Ben, Big Red Buses, the London Eye....and wait what was that that just drove past me. A South African flag just drove past me with a #RUGLEE on it?! With further investigation I find out they are Addison Lee cars and I could win tickets to the Rugby World Cup final. All I need to do is tweet a picture of a car with #RugLee or just play one of the promo games?........THAT IS AWESOME!

Ever Wanted to be on Wipeout or Takeshi's Castle

I know I sure did. Nothing was better than watching those shows and thinking "that would be great" or "I could definitely do better than that". Well it seems that there is something on our doorsteps that allows us to do just that. It is called Rough Runner and it looks awesome.

There's Nothing Innocent About How Devilishly Good they Taste

I have seen a lot of brands and tasted a lot of good things. But innocent is a combination of a great company/brand and taste. So often these "Luxury" or cool brands tend to exploit prices with their brand strength. But you know what, these drinks are worth every penny. But that is not the only thing. They give 10% of all profits to charity. Now isn't that nice? Well yes it sure is.

Coca-Cola: The Fair Play Machine

So a few days ago I showed you the new Pepsi Football vending machine, well this is a little bit older, but I figured I would let Coke get in on the action. The interactive vending machine is something very cool and I am sure with the World Cup here soon we will be seeing a lot more of them. This one is directed at fair play and focuses on football rivalry between Inter and Milan. Have a look.

Playable Music Posters, WHAT!?! with Becks Beer

What is this madness!? Posters that you can actually press and stuff happens, that is cool. Becks latest beer campaign, "Turning Beer into Art" sees the the Record Label Project take to the streets. With these playable music posters, where they've hooked up conductive ink to sensors and speakers in each posters, allowing it to come to life with each touch of the poster. Pretty cool don't you think? I think more and more brands will be coming out with similar projects this year.

The Pepsi Football Vending Machine - Awesome

I have to admit I am a coke man myself and I have always thought their advertising to be ahead of their competitors. However I am a football nut and with the up and coming World Cup in less then a month, Pepsi have come out with this beauty. I mean it's just plain cool. This one, from Pepsi, is called the #FotbolNow skills challenge, and features a vending machine challenge that puts your best skills to the test in order to score a free Pepsi. I can't wait to see one for myself. Take a look below.

John Newman, South Africa by the Fans

John Newman was in SA recently doing his silky thing and Virgin Mobile made something pretty cool. At the Joburg concert they got the fans to have a go, dress up and be all Newman like. I liked, the fans seemed to like it and I am sure you will probably like it too. Well if you like John Newman that is....
The music video stars a total of 278 South African fans. The raw footage, which was 10 hours long, was skilfully edited into the final four-minute cut to capture the mood of the two evenings.

First Legal Betting App in SA

I do enjoy a good bet, and sports betting is my guilty pleasure. So I can not really express how thrilled I am. Sportingbet are my betting company of choice and I have been tweeting and asking why on earth there is no app that I could use to place quick bets. I mean there are mobile sites, but they just don't do the trick.....so Hooray for Sportingbet that they have the first legal betting app in South Africa. If you want to download it all you have to do is click here https://itunes.apple.com/za/app/sportingbet-sa/id737914749?mt=8 or just search in the Apple App store for it, that's what I did, and then you are good to go. I have put some screen shots below, but I promise you it is worth the download, so what are you waiting for?

Volkswagen: The Automatic Skip Ad on YouTube

Volkswagen always seem to have license to do things differently, and with YouTube Pre-Rolls, they’ve created an ad that hits the ‘Skip Ad’ button for you, aiming to highlight that the new Beetle with DSG Tiptronic transmission doesn’t need you to shift gears. So neither will this very ad. With the video playing the sequence and taking you to the next video automatically… I’m not really sure this makes the right link, but it might have just made the Cannes deadline! By AlmapBBDO.

We Love Summer - Oh Yes We Do!

We Love Summer

It's true we all love Summer, but when I am saying 'We Love Summer' here I don't specifically mean the season. Here I am talking about the movement/brand We Love Summer. To quote their Facebook page, 'We Love Summer is a series of summertime pool parties thrown in honour of our friends, the sun, the music and the spirit of party in Cape Town. Come play!'

Social Media for Skateboarding?

An App for Skateboarding and on top of that its a social media app as well. Nike Skateboarding has just launched the ‘Nike SB App’ which aims to gamify skateboarding for the first time to a mass audience. Think of it as Nike+ for skating, but the trick tracking/badges seem to be based on an honesty system with yourself…The app moves through three phases. ‘Progress’, ‘Connect’ and ‘Respect’. You’ll Learn tricks, share videos, take part in challenges with friends and pros around the planet, and build your personal skate history with the Nike SB app.

Adobe: Click Baby Click Campaign!

I never knew that Adobe were branching out, I should be yelled at for not paying more attention. But I had time to quickly go and catch up on everything. The kings of well all things design and creative related are jumping into the marketing world. With Adobe Marketing Cloud you get well and umbrella of services that help track your marketing campaigns. I have given the trial a try and I have to say it looks good. But enough of that take a look at their latest marketing campaign "Click Baby Click Campaign!". It is really cheeky and made me smile so I am sure you will appreciate it too. Take a look.

The Ultimate Smartphone Photo Booth

Although hearing "A 540-Degree Smart Phone Photo Booth powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon processors" may sound a little I don't know a bit out of my tech know how, this video makes it look awesome. With 130 Snapdragon-powered HTC One smartphones are synced together to take ‘Bullet-Time’ photos on command, giving random passers by the chance to take home a seriously cool photo-set. Pretty cool stuff I must admit, take a look at the video below.

Adidas #myjourney

So you will remember a while back that I received some delicious shoes from Adidas, yip some boost's and they are awesome. What is a plus for me, is that I am abroad and I need these type of shoes. I have already used them to run, hike (I climb mountains) and its soon going to be snowing and they are rather any weather durable. A follower on Twitter recently asked me if I would recommend them and I have to say yes, they are so comfortable and light. It feels like I am walking on clouds. (if I knew what that felt like). Anyway Adidas are off again on the #myjourney campaign.

Adidas Launches New Online Football Platform

So we all know Adidas is one of the worlds most awesome brands, so it stands to reason that they would do awesome stuff. I am a huge football fan and I love the Champions League so this app/platform is great for me. Its basically an interactive way to guess scores/banter with other fans, and since I am always right, it will prove to be very handy.

Whatever's Comfortable with Southern Comfort

One of my favourite drinks Southern Comfort, has just launched a new campaign. So I thought it fitting that I gave them some airtime, since I am a fan after all. The new tag line "Whatever's Comfortable" had this to say in it's press release:

Guiness' new Ad is a Real Gem

This ad by Guinness is true quality. I mean who doesn't enjoy a touching moment. In fact I think I may need to change the Just Kicking It's top 10 beer commercials. But you know what, don't take my word for it, have a look yourself.
