2 Gold’s for SA – Chad and Cameron you Champions

Last night saw Chad le Clos win South Africa’s second gold medal at the London Olympic Games by beating the mighty Michael Phelps in the 200m butterfly. Cameron van der Burgh had won gold earlier this week in the 100m breaststroke and not only won, but did it in world record time.

South African swimming is on a high as we had never won an individual men’s swimming gold before these two champions did it.

For Chad, listening to those commentators before you dived in was priceless as they didn’t give you a hope in hell. But you showed them and you could hear they were stunned as they didn’t really know what to say afterwards, besides “how did Phelps not win?” Watch a video of his dad’s reaction here, it truly is great to see how proud is father is.

And let’s not forget Cameron who broke the world record and got us off the mark, what a boy, what a champion. I am so stoked that the boys are bringing home the Gold and I have a feeling that there might be more in store for us. On a side note how great is it that in the medal table we are above Great Britain.
